Rationale

I am interested in the relationship between graphic design and advertising
I am interested in how cultural difference can affect communication.
I think that considering audience is essential to effective communication, concept building and design.
I want to become an effective graphic designer with an industry level understanding of design for print.
I aim to produce work that explores type, image, language and humour.

Statement of intent

Increase my knowledge on the relationship between graphic design and advertising by researching the industries and speaking to people within the industry.
Research other cultures, comparing the way communication can be affected in comparison to our culture.
Consider audience in all my practice in order to produce effective communication, concept building and design.
Continue to research, explore and practice graphic design in order to improve my experience and focus on gaining an industry level understanding of design for print.
Choose briefs which will allow me to create work which focuses on type, image, language and humour.
